Congregation Mishkan Tefila is established.

Originally Mishkan Israel, it is formed by East Prussian immigrants who were formerly members of Temple Adath Israel and meets initially in an apartment on Oswego Street. The third Jewish congregation in Boston and the first conservative congregation, Its first rabbi is Solomon Schindler. The congregation moves to various nearby locations, merges with Shaarei Tefila to form Mishkan Tefila in 1894, moves several more times before building a new synagogue on Seaver Street in 1925.* The congregation moves to Newton in 1958, and votes to move to the campus of Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline in 2016.
